QUEEN'S HEAD

118 Dunn Street, Oakville On.  (905) 842-3070,
A true British Pub in Oakville, the Queen's Head feels very authentic the moment you step in.  The atmosphere, the clientele, the pints and the menu all feel British - you expect Prince Philip to come through the door at any moment.  We have been here for football (soccer) games and just ordinary Saturdays and the feeling is the same.

We have had fish and chips and other dishes and find them to be very satisfying comfort food.  The dishes are not fancy but the prices are very reasonable.
This visit I came with my son Thomas and we began with pints.  I had a Caffery's and he had a Fuller's London Pride.

Both are very smooth and delicious beers.  We then ordered our mains.  I had the fish and mashed potatoes with gravy on the side.  It was a very comforting meal.
Thomas had a grilled chicken on a bun with cheese, pickles, coleslaw and french fries.  He enjoyed everything.

NEW YORKER DELI

1140 Bay St. Toronto On., (416) 923-3354, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Four of us went to the New Yorker Deli on a late Friday afternoon.  We have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed.  It is virtually guaranteed you will have a good satisfying, reasonably priced, simple meal.  Two of us had the chicken pot pie and salad with house dressing.  One of us had the chicken club sandwich and one of us had the whole wheat chicken wrap.

All of our choices were well prepared and delicious.  The service was efficient and without fault.  They are noted for making their own lemonade and freshly squeezed orange juice.  Also, each table has at least three to four different mustard choices.  My son's favourite is the honey mustard which is absolutely delicious.  The fries are delicious and filling.
