GOOD BREAD COMPANY 

While driving around some side roads in Norfolk County we came upon Good Bread Company in the village of Vittoria.  They pride themselves as a local artisan bakery and our impression was that they are artisans.  They bake an extensive selection of breads including raisin bread, sourdough, rustic ryes, and others which vary by season.

They also bake a variety of baked goods, including pies, muffins and croissants.

We selected a light rye loaf and half a dozen butter tarts that are made in house.  The butter tarts are SPECTACULAR!  They were sweet, rich and melted in your mouth.  We selected three pecan and three raisin and thoroughly enjoyed both.  We sat on a picnic bench out in front of the bakery and ate them all.

The staff and owner are very friendly and proud of their products and rightly so.  Located in the village of Vittoria 15 minutes south of Simcoe it is well worth a visit.

THE GREEN BEAN COFFEE ROASTING

After having dinner at the Queen's Head in Oakville we decided to go to The Green Bean for a coffee.  It is a very chic but comfortable place.  We have been here before for their Americano - it is the best version of this coffee I have had. 

We also split a strawberry rhubarb torte and it was quite good.

It has a funky but comfortable interior.

And a lovely patio in Oakville Square.

This is a great place to have a coffee despite the fact that there is Starbucks across the street and a Second Cup around the corner.

SICILIAN SIDEWALK CAFE 

We went to the Sicilian Sidewalk Cafe after having a wonderful dinner at the Standard Restaurant just down the street, in Little Italy on College street.  

This cafe serves great Sicilian cannoli that are filled only when ordered (so that they don't sit in the display case). They are large and mouthwatering.

Their capuccinos are also on the large side and very creamy.

What a treat!

During the summer they have a wonderful large patio and serve a wide selection of gelato.  They also serve a variety of other mouthwatering deserts and cakes.

WANDA'S PIE IN THE SKY

We decided to have a pit stop in Kensington Market before going for dinner.  We stopped at Wanda's to have a coffee, even though we were tempted to try everything we saw in the display cases and counters.

Since we were going out for dinner I did not rate our experience here.  We only had a coffee.  We will be back for a desert here soon and then we will rate it.  It was a very laid back comfortable feel here for sure.
