Three of us decided to go to Kelsey's on a Friday afternoon in June for lunch.  This particular one was located on Guelph Line just above the Lakeshore.  

We found the interior similar to all other Kelsey's.  It had a variety of seating options.  We were led to a nice booth and ordered some Coronas.

We decided to go light for lunch.  My wife and I ordered the sesame chicken salad.  It was delicious.

Mark, our son decided to order a couple of appetizers.  He chose popcorn shrimp.  They were very tasty, crispy and with a nice spicy jalapeno flavour, accompanied by a sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce.

Mark also had their four cheese spinach dip and it was surrounded with numerous deep fried pita triangles.  Three people could share this app easily.

Our lunches were very enjoyable and reasonably priced.  We will definitely return to explore more of their current menu offerings.  A good restaurant with a good selection of food.

TURTLE JACK'S MUSKOKA GRILL

My wife and I went to Turtle Jack's in Mapleview Mall after some New Years shopping.  We decided to have a light dinner of seafood.  

It is a comfortable place that invites you in with it's warm fireplace.

I began with a 9 oz glass of Chianti.  My wife decided on a coke.

We began our meal with a small Caesar salad (with real bacon, not bacon bits).  It was tossed in a garlicky dressing and was topped with shaved asiago cheese.  It was just the right size and quite tasty.

My wife decided on the grilled salmon.  It was served with basmati rice, seasonal vegetables and topped with pineapple mango salsa.  She really enjoyed the salmon, which was tasty and well cooked.

I had the rainbow trout, seasoned, pan seared and topped with butter sauce.  It was served with seasonal vegetables and sweet potatoes.

We completed the meal by sharing a dessert of Skor Brownie Obsession.  It consisted of a classic fudge brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and Skor pieces.  It was awesome and we highly recommend you try it.  

This restaurant has a comfortable feel and a varied clientele.

Clean and fancy washrooms.

The price was reasonable. The service was efficient and delivered with a friendly smile.  We will definitely come back to try some other items on their varied menu.

GOOD BREAD COMPANY

GOOD BREAD COMPANY 

While driving around some side roads in Norfolk County we came upon Good Bread Company in the village of Vittoria.  They pride themselves as a local artisan bakery and our impression was that they are artisans.  They bake an extensive selection of breads including raisin bread, sourdough, rustic ryes, and others which vary by season.

They also bake a variety of baked goods, including pies, muffins and croissants.

We selected a light rye loaf and half a dozen butter tarts that are made in house.  The butter tarts are SPECTACULAR!  They were sweet, rich and melted in your mouth.  We selected three pecan and three raisin and thoroughly enjoyed both.  We sat on a picnic bench out in front of the bakery and ate them all.

The staff and owner are very friendly and proud of their products and rightly so.  Located in the village of Vittoria 15 minutes south of Simcoe it is well worth a visit.

MILESTONES GRILL and BAR

Went to Milestones on a Saturday after returning from a long walk in Toronto.  I was famished and my son and I went here for dinner.  We have been to a number of Milestones in Toronto and Ottawa, so we thought we would try this one after finding many other restaurants in downtown Burlington totally full. Even Milestones was very busy, but we got a table.  

We began by ordering drinks.  I had a large glass (later to be followed by a small glass) of California Merlot and my son had a beer.

We began our dinner with an app each.  I had the phylo shrimp (which are always delicious in Milestones) and my son had the hot spinach and artichoke dip.

My son Mark (http://www.markallenrealty.ca/) had the Kobe style classic meatloaf, with garlic mashed potatoes, lightly fried onion strings, Shitake mushroom au jus and seasonal vegetables.   It was rather large and he had to take the rest home.  The vegetables were boring and rather bland. 

I had the portobello mushroom chicken which included a double breast of chicken, sliced portobello mushrooms sauteed in olive oil with basil, garlic and reduced Reggiano cream over capellini.

I also found the vegetables rather boring, however the amount food was substantial.  The service was good and the food was typical of most Milestones although we found it a little bland here.

SAIGON  PARIS BISTRO

Decided to go out to breakfast before leaving Florida.  So we went to the Saigon Paris Bistro, next to the Seven Lakes Fort Myers community that we were staying in.

We arrived hungry and ready for a hearty breakfast.

One of us ordered the peach filled crepes.  They were filled with a pasty peach goop that looked a bit like baby food - instead of canned peaches or fresh peaches.  At least there were some fresh fruits on the side.

One of us ordered the cream cheese crepes filled with raspberry and cream cheese.

Two of us had the French Combo, which included two sausages or two bacon strips, eggs, french toast and a side  of fresh fruit.  It was a typical big breakfast, however the french toast was very light and quite good.  One of us had the eggs scrambled and one of us had the easy over eggs.

It was a typical breakfast selection that was made more palatable in that the price was two for one.  The service was very good and the server Patricia was well known in the area.

EATALIA  2.5 OUT OF 5

Decided to try Eatalia for their $4 and $8 menu.  We were early for dinner, so we had our choice of seating and sat at the window facing Brant Street in Burlington - there is a nice patio out front, but it was a very hot day so we sat inside.  My son ordered the $4 caesar salad and basically received 3 romaine heart leaves and a small amount of caesar sauce on the plate. It was pathetically small (maybe 50 cents worth of product).  I ordered a $4 mixed green salad with a couple of golden raisins and the hardest croutons I have ever encountered.  Next we ordered a different pizza each.  I ordered the simple salami pizza and my son ordered pizza blanca, a sliced tomato and double smoked bacon and caramelized onion pizza.  The crust was very thin and crispy, but the toppings were pretty ordinary.
The service was very good and it is a nice environment - but the font used in their menu is hard to read (especially the prices) and the food is rather ordinary.
There are far better restaurant choices in Burlington.
